Description:
For those that want to take their wireless control with them, this nRF24LE1-based key fob should do the trick! The board uses an nRF24LE1-24 to read the five available buttons and then transmit the status of the buttons over wireless. The nRF24LE1 goes into sleep mode while a button isn't being held, and only draws 2 uA. When a button is pressed, the device wakes up, transmits the button statuses and the total number of button presses over wireless. A CR2032 coin-cell battery is included, and should last for years.
Features:
Handheld, and can be attached to a keychain
Years of battery life
100+ foot range
On-air-compatible with receivers set up to use Sparkfun's Nordic Fob
Sends button status for both pressed and released changes, so the receiver can know if a button is being held down
Documentation/Software:
nRF24LE1 Datasheet
Schematic
Included firmware
Example receiver firmware for nRF24LE1 devices
nRF24LE1 SDK for use with SDCC (required for compiling code above)
