Description:
Here we have a breakout of FTDI's FT232R USB-to-serial converter IC. The FT232R basically acts like a COM port with a TTL-level converter all one IC! Just connect the breakout to your computer through a standard USB cable, and then hook up your micro's UART to the FT232's TX and RX pins, and you're set!
The breakout is currently set to use 3.3V for I/O voltage through the on-board solder jumper. You can change it to use 5V from USB by moving the bridge to the left and center pads.
